Wojciech Chmielarz

Journalist and acclaimed Polish writer Wojciech Chmielarz is a widely read author of contemporary detective stories. Initially, he worked as an editor-in-chief of a portal describing cases of organized crime and national security, which definitely left its mark on his later own texts. He also had the opportunity to work many times with the special services, criminologists and detectives, during his work for a company monitoring the gray excise market. Thanks to this experience, Chmielarz bases his books on his own experiences and familiarity with the diverse environments he was given to be in. This makes the world he depicts in his detective stories realistic and truly brutal.

Awarded many times for his works, he was the winner of the Grand Caliber Award in 2015 and 2019, for his novels "Acquisition" and "Viper's Den."
